SAGMart Reviews on Hyosung GT250 RC
What’s Good:
Hyosung GT 250R which is one of the Korean bikemaker’s popular selling models in India, has been upgraded with basic updates since its introduction in country’s lineup. However, the motorcycle did not witness a comprehensive update. With the 2018 Hyosung GT 250R, we could be fortunate to see ABS (Anti-Locking Braking System) that is going to be mandated from April 2018, in bikes with 125cc or above engine displacement:
- New Body Language
- Refined Engine
- ABS
- Other Riding Aids
What’s Bad:
Hyosung is set to introduce the 2018 Calendar Year model of the quarter-litre of the GT 250 RC. Around six years or after going to be evolved sports runner, should have something more than the ABS and other cosmetic changes. The automaker could work on the engine to meet with new emission norms along with refinement of the engine and cycle parts.
Power and Mileage:
The current Hyosung GT 250 RC is packed with a 249 cc V-Twin, oil-cooled motor. It is claimed to transmit the developed power of 28 bhp at 10,000 rpm and 22.7 Nm of peak torque at 8000 rpm. The mated 5-speed gearbox sends the propelling force to the rear wheel. The 2018 GT 250 RC in the segment is laden with 250cc displacement engine while the segment has been extended to the 300+cc. The engine should be an improved and refined unit:
- 249cc Displacement Engine
- Max Power: 28 bhp at 10,000 rpm
- Peak Torque: 22.7 Nm at 8000 rpm
- 5-Speed Gearbox
Handling and Riding:
The Hyosung GT 250R is a thrill to ride a motorcycle with an aggressive riding posture. The rear placed foot pegs and stepped seat along with Oversized 17-litres fuel tank and short clip-on handlebars offer MotoGP riding posture. Based on a steel twin spar chassis that is rigid and lightweight in nature. The GT 250RC tackles corners in a sure-footed and confident manner. Meanwhile, the beefy USD forks and dual discs upfront contributes simultaneously:
- Combative Riding Posture
- Rigid, Lightweight Frame
- USD Forks Up Front
- Dual Discs
Maintenance:
The Hyosung GT 250R is a race-oriented sports which offers top end performance from the laden powertrain. The motorcycle uses churn extracted finely from the mechanism. Altogether, the underpinned cycle parts complement simultaneously which require a maintenance at a proper interval. That is the best thing to do with any motorcycle to keep it healthy and performance focused.
Verdict:
The GT 250R is a quarter-litre machine from Korean manufacturer that is quick, agile and performance freak in terms of power delivery. Available at the price tag of around INR 2.5 lakh (on-road, Pune) the GT250R’s is a bike with outright performance and race bike-like handling. In my opinion, it is a value-for-money multi-cylinder sports motorcycle that offers excellent big bike feel and unrivalled street -presence for a small price.
