The Nikon cool pix p500 is a ~12Mega pixels, image sensitivity range of ISO form 160 to 3200, slow motion, full 1080p HD video recording with stereo sound and back illuminated CMOS sensor that is used for a novel arrangement of the imaging elements to increase the amount of light captured and thereby enhance low light performance. It has max apertures of f/3.4 at 22.5mm and f/5.7 at 810mm with fast lens.
Its focus mode comprises Infinity, AF, Manual, and Macro where In face priority AF mode, the camera can detect up to 12 faces and will focus on the one nearest to the camera. It also includes high shutter speed which is fairly fast for the night photography.
