Following the success of its Etios Sedan in the markets, the Etios Liva hatchback was first launched in the Indian car segment later in 2010. Besides, it is based on the same designing platform as of its sedan version and also shares many similar features with the same instead of boot lid option. The latest 2016 variant of the Liva come through a facelift treatment and houses many updates over the exterior and interior as well, while no changes in its powertrain. At the front, it has got a redesigned bumper and a new front grille that give it a more premium look. Apart from this, there are many changes at the front, however, rear end has been blessed with some tweaks in terms of bumper and boot lid. Mentioned below some of the other noticeable features.:
Built with a longer wheelbase of 2460 mm, the Liva hatch offers a comfortable legroom space inside the cabin. Besides, the 2016 hatch is available in dual tone interior. Further, the cabin is also packed with an updated fabric upholstery in order to enhance the appeal of the interior. The dash has now been featured with a redesigned instrument cluster integrated with a digital tachometer and just like the ongoing models, it is still mounted at the centre. Except for the slight chrome treatment on the dashboard and wooden grain finished door, most of the features are common across all the variants. Comfort and entertainment features like 2-Din audio system with CD, MP3, USB, AUX and Bluetooth connectivity, speakers and steering mounted control will only be found with top end variants, However, cooled glovebox, height adjustable driver seat , power windows are standard across all trims. Power and Mileage:- No changes have occurred in its powerhouse and both are available with the same 1.2-litre petrol and 1.4-litre diesel engine options. Both the engines are producing a decent power that is good enough to run the car in both cities and on the highway. Along with a sufficient power, they also return a great mileage ranging from 15.1 Kmpl to 17.71 Kmpl and 20.32 Kmpl to 23.59 Kmpl respectively. Moreover, both the motors are mated to a 5-speed manual transmission gearbox.
When it comes to safety, not a single person want any compromise, hence the automaker also hasnt left any stone unturned and produce a host of safety attributes. It also has enough ground clearance of 170 mm to beat all the potholes and bumpy Indian roads. The good thing is, dual airbags (Driver and front Occupants), ABS (Anti-lock Brake System) and EBD (Electronic Brake-Force Distribution) are now standard across all the mills.
