Camouflaged Tata Hexa Spied Testing Again Prior To Its Launch

Tata’s yet-to-be-launched Hexa SUV has been teased once again in Pune.  After first showcased at Delhi Auto Expo in February this year, the Hexa SUV has seen testing a couple of times on the Indian roads and is expected to arrive at Tata dealerships in the month of July-August this year. One of the most anticipated cars of this year, the Hexa SUV will serve as the newest flagship SUV.

From the snapped images, this time the test mule of Hexa is slightly lesser camouflaged than before. Though there is nothing new to reveal, but the repeated testing of the SUV indicates the soon arrival of the car.

Based on the platform that underpins the Tata Aria, the concept of new Hexa was introduced at Geneva Motor Show in 2015. The exteriors of new Hexa include LED DRLs (Daytime Running Lights), dual-tone bumper, LED tail lamps and dual-exhaust pipes. Moreover, it gets the SUV characteristics like 19-inch alloy wheels, plastic body covering, high shoulder line and high ground clearance.

Some reports suggest that Tata is actively working on a sub 2.0-litre diesel engine which is based on the current 2.2-litre VARICOR unit, for the cities where heavy diesel engine powered cars are banned. This could be the reason behind the delay of Hexa launch. The new engine will be mated to a 6-Speed manual or automatic transmission that will transmit the power to all wheels. The new Hexa is expected to launch in the price range of INR 10 lakh to INR 15 lakh.
