Renault Lodgy: Price Slashed Up to INR 96,000

Renault India has cut the price of its MPV Lodgy by almost INR 1.0 lakh. However, the slashed rate is only applicable to the less power 85 hp model of the Lodgy, while the price of more powerful 110 hp version remains unchanged. Renault gave this relaxation in order to speed up the sales graph of its MPV.

As it was recent in the news, Chevrolet discontinued ENJOY MPV from its Line-up due to the low sales. Same happened with Lodgy, when it completed the financial year, it was unable to reach up to the marked sales.

Initially, the Lodgy got a strong grip on the market, as Renault sold out 5,687 units of it in the first three months after launch. But by the end of the financial year 2016, the company recorded the overall sales of only 9,572 units and now by slashing its price the company is looking forward to getting back the same response from the buyers which they got initially.

Considering the Indian market, there are no such cars in this segment those are well succeeded, expect Toyota Innova and Maruti Suzuki Ertiga. And it's very tough to stand against these two cras.

Coming back to the new price of the Lodgy variants, the entry-level 85 hp model is now more affordable after getting a cost-cutting of INR 96,000. The 85 hp RxE variant is now available in INR 8.57 lakh after getting a cost deduction of INR 80,000.
