2015 Kawasaki Z250 to Receive ABS and Slipper Clutch

The Kawasaki Z250 is the newly introduced 250cc engined motorcycle over the Indian ground. This is the smallest displaced engine motorcycle to be landed in India by the Japanese motorcycle manufacturer, Kawasaki. The 2014 Kawasaki Z250 came-up loaded with semi-floating dual disc brakes as standard. The quarter-liter sports motorcycle is rivaling with the existing KTM RC 200, Honda CBR 250R and Yamaha's upcoming sports motorcycle, R25. At the time of launch, the firm hasn't made any announcement to introduce ABS and other additional equipments in nearby future.

And, here comes the breathtaking news for the Kawasaki Z250 enthusiasts. The ABS braking system and Slipper Clutch have now become standard in the aforementioned sports motorcycle by the coming year. The Government of India also made a declaration to make ABS compulsory in all two-wheelers from 125cc onwards by the year 2017. The Japanese two-wheeler maker has already taken a step forward in this direction. Along with the Indian market, the Kawasaki Z250 will be making its availability in all other regions with ABS and Slipper Clutch as standard.

Kawasaki Z250

The Kawasaki Z250 is powered by a parallel-twin, fuel-injected configuration carrying an engine displacement of 249cc. The liquid-cooled, DOHC motor is coupled with a 6-speed transmission and capable to generate a total power of 31.5 BHP @ 11,000 RPM and a peak torque of 21 Nm @ 10,000 revs. Adding the ABS braking system and Assist Slipper Clutch to the motorcycle also increases the kerb weight of the motorcycle by 2Kg. The Kawasaki Z250 is priced at Rs 2.99 Lacs (Ex-Showroom Delhi).

Till now, the Kawasaki Z250 is the only one receiving standard ABS and Assist Slipper Clutch. The Kawasaki ER-6n will not be receiving the ABS and ASC as of now. We should wait for firm's further announcement to introduce the advance braking system in other models as well.
