2016 Hyundai Elantra India Launch Expected by Mid 2016

Hyundai Elantra has become one of the finest sedan in a short period of time. The Automaker showcased the facelift version of Elantra last year at the Dubai international motor show. However, the India launch of the sedan is expected by the mid of this year. The carmaker claims that it has been made with 53 per cent Advanced High Strength Steel (AHSS).

The 2016 Hyundai Elantra will be available in both petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol trim will come in 1.6-litre GDi and 2.0-litre MPi engine options, while the diesel will house a 1.6-litre VGT CRDi engine. The petrol engines will be coupled to either a six-speed manual gearbox or a six-speed automatic transmission, while the diesel variant will get a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

Hyundai Elantra is popular for its stylish appeal and is highly admired by the executive class. So, keeping the beauty in mind, the new model will be based on the Fluidic 2.0 design philosophy, giving it a sharp and aggressive. The front fascia wears a hexagonal front grille and projector headlamps with integrated DRLs. The taillamps along with the sloping roofline is an ultimate addition to its exterior beauty. In terms of dynamics, the new Elantra will be about 20mm longer and 25mm wider than its predecessor.

However, the automaker has not announced the price of the car in the country yet but it is expected to be available at a price range of Rs 15 lakh - Rs 19 lakh (Ex-showroom). Post launch, the new Elantra will rival against the prominent sedan cars like Chevrolet Cruze, Toyota Corolla Altis and the Skoda Octavia.
