The 2016 edition of the Pune Off-road Expedition is going to be commence from 31 July. Around 8Moto events in both motorcycle and car categories will be organised in this third edition of the event. As per the report, the 2016 Pune offroad event will be flagged off at 9am in morning from Panshet Boating Club, near Panshet Dam, Pune.
At the event, organisers are expecting the two-fold participation (around 600) of enthusiasts as compared to the previous year numbers. The signed up participants will try their hands on to the most treacherous motorable tracks spread across the Sahyadri mountain range. Though, it's not a competitive event, it’s an recreational one. However the riders and drivers skills will be tested on the 70km long challenging route having various obstacles like broken tarmac, water crossings, dodging ceaseless rain, knee-deep slush and slippery terrain.
2016 Pune Off-road Expedition is also likely to witness named motocross rider and famed motorcycle clubs as well as various novice participants. The 70 kilometre muddy slushy course will have the checkpoints at every 15km distance where organisers would keep the track of riders to ensure their safety.

The entry fees for the participation is Rs 600 which offers various things like refreshments, lunch, participation certificate and event merchandise. Any one who wants to participate can register directly at the venue. After the event, the camping facilities are also provided by the organisers at payment of an additional charge. For the safety of the two wheeler riders, the event management mandate to wear the safety gear which include certified full-face helmet, gloves, riding jacket/armour, riding pants or knee/elbow pads and ankle length boots.
