2016 Toyota GT86 facelift Unveiled Prior To New York Auto Show

Toyota has finally revealed the official pictures of the 2016 GT86 facelift, which is set to launch a week later at the 2016 New York motor show. The facelifted 2016 model comes with revised chassis but offers an updated sporty exterior. The car is expected to go on sale later this year. The front fascia gets a large air intake, which is designed to enhance the aerodynamic feature. The bumper too get reprofiled along with new LED taillights. The car stands on new 10-spoke alloy wheels.

In order to make the GT86 feel more luxurious and appealing, Toyota has added premium leather coating along with Alcantara upholstery to the interior. The door trims get a soft touch, suede-effect material coating as well. Moreover, the steering wheel has been redesigned, supporting integrated audio controls.

The chassis also comes with tweaked suspension system along with revised spring rates and damper. This allows to hold better handling at high speed driving. However, the engine specs remain same i.e the 2.0-litre four-cylinder boxer power mill that efficiently churns out a maximum power output of 197 bhp along with a peak torque of 151 lb ft. The automaker claims that GT86 is capable of sprinting from still to 100 km/h in 7.6sec. It is also made to catch the top speed of up to 140mph.

The prices have not been revealed yet but the new price is likely to vary with the current model. The company will also release the on-sale date later on with the booking expected to start by end of 2016.
