As per a recent report by India Today, the 2016 Toyota Innova is not just receiving a cosmetic makeover, but it's also going to be introduced with a new name. The upcoming MUV will now be called Toyota Innova Crysta, which can be seen in the presentation image displayed above. The all new Crysta will be displayed at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo, where the audience will be able to enjoy the detailed looks and specifications of the MUV. As it's the next generation model, various changes have been made that clearly distinguish it from the previous version.
However, this is not the first time that Toyota is using the name Crysta. Earlier, it had used the same for a special edition Innova. It is being anticipated that giving a different name to the MUV could also mean that the company probably aims to continue selling the regular Innova instead of replacing it with the Crysta.

Based on a new ladder platform, the model will be fitted with much superior and upmarket equipments. Some of these found in the interior section are leather upholstery, LED mood lighting, power windows, touchscreen infotainment, dual zone climate control, multi-function steering wheel, SD card support, Bluetooth compatibility, etc.
Under the hood, there will be a 2.4 litre GD and probably a 2 litre dual VVT petrol motor. The former makes 149 PS and 342 Nm of maximum output, while the former is good enough to pump out 139 PS and 187 Nm of maximum output. Transmission duties will be performed by either a 5-speed manual or an optional 6-speed automatic gearbox.
