2016 Triumph Tiger Explorer Uncovered Specs

With the launch taking this week, Triumph Motorcycles have exposed some of the specifications of its new Tiger Explorer, which is having six variations.

For a recall, the six versions are- XC, XCx, XCa, XR, XRx and Xrt. Powering each of them is the same 1215cc three-cylinder engine with shaft drive that delivers 139 PS of power at 9300 RPM 123NM of peak torque at 6200 RPM. All power is transmitted to the rear wheel via a six-speed gearbox. While mechanically, all the models are uniform, but perceptibly, modifications have been done over their front exterior profiles.

As per the technological aspect, the Tiger Explorer group will get cornering ABS and traction control, five different riding modes- road, rain, off-road, sport and custom along with a hill hold function. Apart from this, the XCX, XCA, XRX, XRT models feature WP semi-active suspension with auto-levelling rear preload and a torque assist clutch. A low seat option is there for the XRx and XCx variants. On an interesting note, it has also got an inertial measurement unit that does the evaluation of vertical, lateral and longitudinal planes on the yaw, pitch, roll and acceleration basis.

High anticipations are there from the British manufacturer that it will bring the new Tiger Explorer to the Indian soil. Though, the exact launch date is still in disguise. When it comes to pricing, not a single word the automaker has revealed about, but expect this new adventure Tourer to sit a little high this time.
