One of the most popular hatch under American brand moniker, Ford Figo seems to receive a new variant in its Indian lineup for the year of 2017. Ford is up to add a new Sports trim to Figo hatchback as a single unit of the same has been spied at one of the carmaker’s dealership backyard. The spy shots reveal exterior updates to the new Figo which are likely to be extended to the Aspire compact sedan in form of Aspire Sports.
Both, the Figo Sports and Aspire Sports are expected to go on sale by the end of this month or in early May. Leveraging the spy images, the hatch looks hotter with blacked-out mesh grille pattern, black alloy wheels, black painted wing mirrors and door panels too get plastic moulding along with it. Moreover, it has also been reported that Sports version will be available in dual tone colour shades.

You would notice here that dual tone colour scheme has become the popular choice among the buyers as it sounds premium, hence most of the carmakers are updating their products in order to achieve the same goal. Recently, Hyundai has updated its flagship car, Elite i20 with dual tone paint scheme for the 2017 model year, just like Vitara Brezza.

We also expect several tweaks and add details from the carmaker inside the cabin of new Sports versions. Updates could be made in terms of dual tone accented seat upholstery and leather-wrapped steering wheel. In terms of price, Ford would not wish to burn its finger with the higher price tag as the competition in the segment is quite high. However, we can expect a slight premium over the outgoing models.
Under-the-hood specs remain identical to that of the current lineup. The new variants will be offered across the same three powertrains - 1.2-litre petrol, 1.5-litre petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel motor.

While the 1.2-litre petrol engine develops a maximum power of 87 hp along with the peak torque of 112 Nm, the 1.5-litre diesel setup generates 98 hp of max power and 215 Nm of peak torque. Both the engines are paired with a 5-speed manual transmission.
In addition to the above mentioned, the hatchback also gets a 1.5-litre petrol mill with automatic transmission, however, available only in range-topping Titanium & Titanium plus variants. Rest all variants of Figo- Base, Ambiente, Trend, Titanium and Titanium plus are available with manual transmission choice only.
