2017 Hyundai i20 Facelift Spied Performing Test Runs in India

It is not the first time when 2017 Hyundai i20 facelift has been spied in India. A few days back, the upcoming hatch was captured on camera during its test runs, but, this time, the closest and clearest ever images of the car are available online. The spied images suggest that the impending Hyundai i20 will be a genuine mid-life facelift with notable cosmetic and feature upgrades. Just a month back, in April, the South Korean auto major had introduced the improved version of the same with new dual tone shade. But the time period for the 2017 Hyundai i20 facelift to mark its entry in the Indian market has yet not been revealed by the bike maker. However, expectations are that it could be launch by the end of this year.

Now, from the images which were clicked really up-close, but owing to partial camouflage any major changes to its design language, can’t be confirmed. Although, the new Hyundai i20 will be embellished with an updated front along with the Hyundai’s new signature cascading grille design and restyled headlamps, is evident from the spy shots. Projector lamps and LED DRLs will also be on-board but will be offered only in the top end variants, not as standard. Other than this, a new set of stylish alloy wheels was also observed that with premium looks enhancing the overall appeal of the car.



As the rear portion and the cabin of spied i20 facelift were heavily camouflaged, so the changes and amount of updates made by Hyundai, cannot be explained. Even so, we can expect a revised LED taillamps, a new rear bumper, and a small roof mounted spoil. While, inside the cabin, for a slight upmarket treatment we can see the bundle of features and equipments such a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automatic climate control and faux leather upholstery for occupants premium comfort. At the safety front, it is likely to be fitted with Airbags and ABS with EBD as standard.

Mechanically, as no changes are expected in this 2017 Hyundai i20 facelift, so the car will continue to get power by same two petrol and a diesel option. The 1.2-litre petrol engine with a 5-speed manual unit, a 1.4-litre petrol engine mated to a 4-speed automatic gearbox and a 1.4-litre diesel engine coupled to a 6-speed manual transmission.
