The South Korean auto-giant globally introduced the all-new generation Kia Rio at the Paris Motor Show last year. And now the carmaker has officially released the price and details of the mid-sized hatch that will soon go on sale in the UK first.
The all new Kia Rio will be available at a starting price of £11,995 (INR 10.20 lakh) while the range-topping model could be availed at £17,445 (INR 14.84 lakh). The carmaker also confirmed that the new hatch will be offered in 5-door trim only.
According to the released info, the new Kia Rio will be offered in total 10 versions across 3 different trim grades. The top-end specs of the new Rio include 16-inch alloy wheels, a large 7-inch infotainment display with satellite navigation, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, climate control, black faux leather upholstery, heated front seats and a heated steering wheel as well, rain-sensing wipers, electrically operable wing mirrors with LED indicators, cruise control, autonomous emergency braking and lane departure warning systems.
There are also several standard features across all trim such as front electric windows, remote locking, electrically adjustable ORVMs, a 3.8-inch display, Bluetooth, bi-function projection headlamps and cornering lights and LED DRLs (Daytime Running Lights).
On the mechanical front, Rio is available in a wide range of petrol and diesel powertrains. Along with the standard petrol-powered 1.0-litre turbocharged mill, the Rio will get a 1.25-litre and a 1.4-litre petrol mills and the Euro-spec 1.4-litre turbo diesel engine in two different states of tunes. The 1-litre turbo motor is tuned to make either 99 bhp or 118 bhp, along with the 171 Nm of torque.
The carmaker is also gearing up to enter the Indian market with the Rio Sedan and the Picanto, and expected to announce its entry soon.
