2017 Maruti S-Cross Facelift Launched at INR 8.49 lakh

Maruti Suzuki has launched the 2017 facelifted S-Cross in India. With a slew of cosmetic updates and added features, the upmarket model falls in the increased price range of INR 8-11 Lakhs. The base model in the range is tagged with an introductory price sticker of INR 8.49 lakh (ex-Delhi). Desirables can register their interest as the bookings for the model has already been commenced at all the 280 dealerships at the token amount of INR 11,000. Other than this, the variants and the equipment of the facelifted Maruti S-Cross has already been revealed via a brochure leak.

As brochure revealed, the facelifted Maruti Suzuki S-Cross is only being provided with a single engine option of a 1.3-litre, Fiat-sourced engine that is capable of churning 90hp of power and 200Nm of torque in association with a five-speed manual transmission. While, the 1.6-litre diesel engine that was on offer with the earlier model has been eliminated from the lineup. Other integrations to the offered engine comprises a start-stop system, brake energy regeneration and an integrated Starter Generator motor for a mild torque-assist function.

Moreover, the facelift version of the premium crossover received significant changes at its skin. Featuring bold design language, the S-Cross gets muscular stance from chiselled bonnet and bumper which incorporates grille with thick chrome work and vertical slats. Other captivating features are LED projector lamps and eye-brow DRLs. while rear sports LED tail lamps, and wider 215/60 R16 tyres on new two-tone machine finished alloy wheels.

In terms of rivalry, there will be same opponents for the new S-Cross including the Hyundai Creta, Ford EcoSport, and the newly launched Tata Nexon.
