2017 Mini Countryman Spied in Germany

It stands to reason that the 2017 Mini Countryman is coming to the shores before the end of this year. Moreover, the public debut may take place at the upcoming 2016 Paris Motor Show. Seems like, the carmaker has finished working on all the changes and has started making some test rounds on the roads. With  so many spy photographers are hidden in the middle of the streets, it is nearly impossible to get past of any test mule without being caught on their cameras. Similarly, the second generation Countryman has been spotted in Germany.

The latest spied pictures show off slightly more details than the earlier ones. Furthermore, the camouflaged model has also been found with the new front grille design instead of the regular hexagonal grille. Besides, 2017 Countryman ditches the sporty alloy wheels and comes up with (a new plastic-like set). The side and rear end are still beyond the knowledge as they are highly concealed under the black and yellow cover.

It’s already been made clear that the next generation Mini Countryman will use the front-wheel drive UKL architecture that is doing with Mini Clubman and the BMW X1. Further to provide more spacious cabin, it is also expected to have a longer wheelbase of about 100 mm as well as 10 mm wider than the ongoing version. The boot lid is also claimed to be offered above current 450 litres.

We had notified you earlier that it might get featured with the BMW’s most prominent technology, the Variable Damper Control, with a view to increasing driving comforts. No confirmation has arrived yet, but the unit might also bring up an electronically performed all-wheel drive arrangement that is currently underpinning the BMW X1.

As the vehicle is based on the UKL platform, it would be powered by Mini’s three and four cylinder Twinpower turbo motor options. When it comes to transmission box, it would be handled by a 6-speed manual or an 8-speed Steptronic automatic gearbox. What’s more about the model that it is going to be powered with a plug-in hybrid engine, using a 1.5-litre, three cylinder petrol trim along with the electric motor.
