The German auto-giant is all set for the global premiere of 2018 Mercedes-Benz S-Class at New York and Shanghai Auto Show, and the flagship luxury caught undisguised on camera from inside out. This is the mid-life update to the outgoing luxurious S-Class will be more powerful with some additional styling cues.
The current generation S-class brought the luxury limousine segment on the new era. And the upcoming model sounds more premium with a number of additional details. The upcoming 2018 S-Class will be unveiled under the moniker of S560 and will replace the outgoing S550. The visual updates are done to make the car look more sophisticated.
On the exterior, the front fascia of the 2018 S-Class boasts of Multibeam headlamp complimented by three-layer LED DRLs (Daytime Running Lights). The new setup of headlamp cluster allows permanent usages of the high beam without dazzling the traffic coming from the front. The bumper has also been revised and now features additional chrome treatment. Moving at the rear, the tail lamps have been slightly altered along with the revamped bumper and new exhaust finishers.
As you step inside, the noteworthy update is an S-Class Coupe borrowed three-spoke steering wheel. A closer inspection will reveal that luxury barge gets bigger size infotainment display. Also, the lower part of center console has also received several design changes.
The new tag of S560 on the trunk suggests that it will be more powerful than the current S-Class model and once launched it will replace the existing one. The new 2018 S-Class S560 is reported to be powered by a new 4.0-litre Bi-turbo V8 unit. Despite the low engine volume, it churns out more power along with the lesser fuel consumption than the existing 4.7-litre unit. 2018 Mercedes S-Class lineup will also be available in company’s new M256 in-line six-cylinder petrol motor setup which comes with an electric compressor and Integrated Starter-Alternator.
The 2018 version of Mercedes-Benz S-Class, the S560 is scheduled for the global launch by the third quarter of 2017. Whereas the Maybach, Coupe and Cabriolet versions of the same would follow by the year-end.
