Revealed: 2019 Wagon R To Come With 10 Variants and 2 Engine Option

The Next-gen Maruti Suzuki Wagon R would be offered in ten variants with two engines and in six colours. Looking at the detailed offers listed below:

  • 1.0-litre and 1.2-litre petrol engine to be offered
  • LXi, VXi, ZXi in 3 MT and 4 AGS options for transmission
  • ZXi is supposed to only be offered on 1.2-litre variant
  • The New car measures at 3.65 meters and with a wheelbase of 2.43 meters

Yesterday, a detailed look at the interiors of the new, next-generation Maruti Wagon R was made available and now, the variants and specifications have been revealed. This next-gen car would be offered in 10 variants with two engine options and in six lucrative colour options.

Engines

This new Wagon R would be, for the first time, offered an option of two engines. One will be the 1.0-litre unit that would power the current car whereas the new engine option is the 1.2-litre found in the Swift, Dzire and Ignis. The one with the 1.0-litre unit engine produces 67bhp/90Nm while the other engine option with 1.2-litre is good for 81bhp/113Nm. Both engines would be getting a five-speed manual/AMT or as per Maruti, the AGS technology.

Variants

Wagon R would be offered by Maruti Suzuki in 10 variants and six vibrant colour options. The colour list comprises White, beige, brown, orange, black and blue. The variant list is as follows: (though we do not have any clarity yet as to what will be extra in the optional variants.

- LXi 1.0 MT

- LXi 1.0 (O)

- VXi 1.0 MT

- VXi 1.0 AGS (O)

- VXi 1.2 MT

- VXi 1.2 MT (O)

- VXi 1.2 AGS

- VXi 1.2 AGS (O)

- ZXi 1.2 MT

- ZXi 1.2 AGS

This next-gen Wagon R measures 3.65-meters and with a wheelbase of 2.43 meters. These are in addition to 30mm over the outgoing model.

Maruti has also increased 6mm to the overall height of the car.

Finally, the LXi variants would be offered with R13 wheels and the VXi and ZXi variants would be offered with 14-inch wheels. Talking about rivals. The main rivals are the Tata Tiago, Hyundai Santro, Datsun Go+ as well as Maruti’s own Celerio hatchback.
