Just a few months back, Audi launched its cheapest sedan car in India named as Audi A3 with a price tag of below INR 25 Lac. Now, the German automaker is planning to bring an open top version of this which was demoed at the Auto Expo show during early this year. This open top version will be known as A3 Cabriolet and will feature greater sporty looks than its sedan counterpart. Audi has decided to set up this car in India on December 11, with price to be revealed at launch. However, its anticipated price is around INR 42-48 Lac.
In terms of design, this A3 Cabriolet will feature 2 doors and fabric open roof which will make it look different from A3 sedan and some tweaks on sidelines are also possible with the new shape of alloy wheels. Inside the cabin, all essential features could be same in both sedan and open top. Talking about its engine, A3 Cabriolet is available in 1.4 Litre 140 BHP and 1.8 Litre 180 BHP petrol mills and a 2.0 Litre 150 BHP diesel engine internationally and the same would arrive in India as well.
Currently, there are only a few cars available with an open roof in India and this A3 Cabriolet could generate some good sales volumes for Audi as the competition is low. But, its hefty price tag which is almost nearly INR 50 Lac because of the CBU route delivery could be an area of concern of its manufacturer.
