Audi Q8 Prototype Spotted Testing; Launch At The 2017 Detroit Auto Show

All set to launch at the forthcoming North American Motor Show in Detroit, the test mule of the flagship coupe-SUV, Audi Q8 has spied while performing test runs. The teaser images of the first ever Q8 was officially being revealed by the Ingolstadt-based carmaker, last month. Whereas, the first spy images have now surfaced online.

Around the globe, several automobile markets are witnessing the growing market trend of the coupe-SUVs, as the various premium luxury car manufacturers like Mercedes-Benz has joined the train with the Introduction of a rather controversial bandwagon the GLE coupe last year. The German based carmaker BMW already having strong feet in the segment with its luxury offerings the X4 and the X6 models. While the Audi is all set to hit the spot with this new product Q8.

Manufactured on the same MLB platform as the Q7, the all-new Audi Q8 resembles its new gen Q7 SUV sibling. But is a more updated and luxurious illustration than the second mentioned. As it gets a wider body, a coupe-like a roofline and improved styling. The Audi has tried its level best to hide the arched roofline and the new tail lamp cluster under that camouflage clothing, but the taillamp assembly fitment is noticeably unique.

It is confirmed that the Audi Q8 will be adorned with an updated design language. Not only the rendered teaser images but also the new spy images are clearly evident to this fact. The noticeable cosmetic updates will be the intersection of the black horizontal slats of the grille by the double vertical fin and the grille is also observed the bordering with the heavy black chrome. Other changes include the embellishment of the more angular LED lamps with integrated LED DRLs. However, the test mule was spied fitted with halogen units.

The market-ready version of the rendered Q8 with the e-tron lettering up front will take time for official launch. Whereas, the prototype model will make its appearance to be an electric model at the 2017 Detroit Auto Show in an electric model.
