August 2016 Sales Report: Maruti Registers 12 percent Upsurge Led by Vitara Brezza and Ciaz

The domestic car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. has achieved a sales upliftment of 12% in the month August this year. As against last fiscal, the firm has retailed out 1.32 lakh units in August 2016 over 1.17 lakh units in August 2015. The major contributors of this upliftment were Vitara Brezza and Ciaz.

As we have entered the third quarter of the 2016-17 fiscal, things up to now have been pretty good in the car segment of the country. Maruti Suzuki has witnessed highest ever sales in the domestic market for the last month. 1.19 lakh units have been accounted for the native sales, while the export number managed to reach 12,280, increasing the graph by 10.8%.

The home company has dispatched 16,806 units last month registering 114.5 per cent growth in the UV segment as compared to August 2015. The newly launched Vitara Brezza has done a great job accompanied by the S-Cross. As we are heading towards the festive season, it is needless to say that the sales are going to be continued further.

Highlighting the Ciaz, the top performance car has also assisted much to achieve a considerable growth collectively. Contrary to this, the Alto and WagonR segment has witnessed a downfall of 6 per cent. Nevertheless, the company is trying hard to hold a strong position in the A-segment.

The upcoming Ignis miro-crossover is anticipated to be launched soon in the country and going to be placed underneath the Brezza. Maruti has high hopes for the car as it might increase the sales momentum in the months coming ahead. Besides this, Suzuki’s new Gujarat car plant is anticipated to start the operations in early 2017.
