Bajaj Pulsar CS400 Hitting Dealerships Next Month; Launch Confirmed

The most-anticipated bike of the year, Bajaj Pulsar CS400 is all set to grab a space in the middleweight tourer segment next month. The news has been confirmed by Rajiv Bajaj, CEO, Bajaj Auto. While having the discussion with its investors on Wednesday, 27th July 2016, the company has manifested its future plans of investing Rs. 2500 crore over the time period of next three years. This giant investment involves a number of new launches, product developments, and capital expenditures. The Bajaj Pulsar CS400 is probably the starting move followed by the launch of Husqvarna brand in India next year.

The said bike has been in talks since its unveil at the 2014 Auto Expo. The motorcycle was disclosed as a concept for the very first time during the event. For most of the bikes, the design, as well as performance elements, do get a change from concept to the production phase, however, recent spy shots of Pulsar CS400, in contrast with others didn’t take any major modifications and remains almost same. Though, instead of USD suspension setup, the motorcycle will feature a traditional unit this time.

Upcoming Bajaj Pulsar CS400

Up till now, the Pulsar CS400 is the most powerful and popular bike from the home automaker. Besides, the Pune-based manufacturer has installed its biggest motor into the two-wheeler, which it hasn’t used in any of its offerings until now. Expect the beast to pack up the same 373cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine as the one we have seen on the competitors- KTM 390 Duke and RC390. Though, the maximum power is going to be less than these two babies, but, that doesn’t count much as the engine is mated to a six-speed transmission unit. In braking terms, the Pulsar CS400 may arm disc brakes on either side, with dual-channel ABS as an available option.

In order to maintain an economic price level, the Pulsar CS400 is anticipated to take the same parts as RS200. Suspension treatment includes conventional telescopic forks up front while a monoshock unit at the rear end. Price is going to be less than Rs. 2 lakh and that’s a sigh of relief here.

The Pulsar brand has been welcomed with a warm heart in the country and by this launch, the company can hopefully expect the same zeal and enthusiasm among the buyers this time as well, said Rajiv Bajaj while the meeting. The brand is expecting a target of selling 1,00,000 units thereby disrupting the market again, he added further.
