Bajaj Pulsar VS400 Spotted in Leh; Posing for a TVC Shoot

Production ready versions of the upcoming Bajaj Pulsar VS400 have been caught on the roads of Leh without camouflage. Earlier in August, a Pune resident Binny Jacob was returning from Kargil with his family and got stumbled for what he saw. Three completely undisguised VS400s were posing for a TV commercial in the mountains. Apparently, some of them were covered in a black livery, while one has got a deep blue paint bodywork.

A few days before Bajaj has renamed this bike to VS400 from CS400 with the whole nomenclature of its CS (Cruiser Sport) to be turned to the VS (Vantage Sportz). So, the much-awaited motorcycle from the native giant, which was entitled as CS till date, will now be known as the VS. Powering the Vantage Sportz is a 373.2cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine, which is similar to that of KTM Duke/RC 390’s mill. Employing the signature triple spark technology of Bajaj, the motor is able to accelerate the vehicle at a maximum power output of 35HP at 8000 RPM. The six-speed gearbox will manage the transmission.

The design, more or less, is similar to the concept model of the VS400, which was unveiled at the 2014 Auto Expo. For the first time ever on a Bajaj motorcycle, we shall see full LED headlight as well as tail light assembly along with side indicators. A dual instrument cluster displays the speedometer and a gear indicator has been placed on the belly. Other informative instruments like the tachometer, trip meter, and fuel gauge are being showcased on the all-digital unit, which is fixed between the handlebars. The traditional telescopic forks are going to be offered onto the bike instead of the upside down unit owing the keep the costs under budget. However, Pulsar VS400 will be blessed with dual-channel ABS and disc brakes at both the ends.

When asked about the launch from the crew, Binny was told that the expected launch would take place on this 27th, however, this might be a false news so there’s no point of believing that for now. The Bajaj Pulsar VS400 would probably take a price tag between INR 1.5 lakh and INR 1.8 lakh (Ex-showroom) and lock the horns of RE Himalayan, Mahindra Mojo, and KTM Duke 390.
