Back in 2000, the Indian government had introduced European emission regulations based Bharat stage emission norms. These regulations have fundamentally used to check to CO2 emissions of all the vehicles. Later on, which has been following the upgraded emission norms like BS-II compliance, BS-III compliance and now all the Bajaj Auto vehicles will be BS-IV compliant.

The official implementation of BS IV compliance will happen by the April 2017. So all the manufacturers will have the need to upgrade their vehicles to BS-IV compliant by the deadline 31st March 2016. In the first phase, the government has introduced the BS IV norms in few metro cities, which has further been expanded to more cities in order to check the increasing pollution level. The models which were launched till 31st March 2016 required being upgraded to BS-IV compliance by 31st March 2017.

Consequently, the prices of the new models equipped with BS-IV compliant engine will receive a marginal price hike. Keeping that in mind, Bajaj Auto has already announced the price hike for all its existing models in between Rs.700 to Rs.1500 depending upon the model and variants.
