British luxury Automaker Bentley has finally launched its first SUV named Bentley Bentayga in India at a starting price of Rs 3.85crore (ex-showroom, Delhi). Bentayga is said to be the world’s first super luxury SUV. It is based on the VW Group’s MLB-Evo platform that underpins the upcoming Porsche Cayenne and the new Audi Q7.
The exterior resembles the other Bentley models, sharing similar accent with the front grille, skid plates and headlamps. It stands on a massive 22-inch alloy wheels. The interior look luxurious providing generous space as well. The design inside the cabin is floating through the dashboard to the other areas, reflecting the Bentley Badge as contrast. It some equipped with bright mineral glass for driver's panel and a new diamond-cut seats that allows 22-way positioning.
Under the hood, the Bentayga gets a 6.0-litre twin-turbo W12 powermill that develops a maximum power output 608 hp along with a peak torque of 900Nm. The power is transmitted with the help of 4WD via 8-speed automatic gearbox. The SUV also gets a new air suspension with adjustable ride height, assuring better handling and ride quality. The automaker claims that the SUV is capable to sprint 0-100kph in just 4 seconds. It has been tuned to offer a top speed of up to 301 kph.
Interestingly, Bentley brought 20 units of Bentayga to India this year, and all the units have already been sold out. Therefore, people looking to buy one need to wait for sometime.
