BMW 3 Series Hybrid Models to be Launched Soon

World's leading German automaker company BMW is planning to go green with its upcoming vehicles and some of them were displayed at the recently concluded Paris Motor Show 2014. Now taking a step forward, company's new 3 Series car has been spotted testing as an electric plug-in model. There hasn't been any update about the launch of this car, but engine and other cosmetic details are out in the market. On the exterior front, this new BMW 3-Series Plug-in hybrid will get almost the same looks as about to come facelift version of BMW 3 Series regular variant, with less boot space though. There would be tweaked headlight, front fascia and rear as well.

Talking about its engine specifications, this new hybrid version will get a twin-turbocharged 4-Cylinder petrol powered engine and helping it is an electric motor to churn a total power output of 242 bhp and 400 Nm torque. The car will get an eight-speed Steptronic transmission as well. This new car is fully optimized for the fuel consumption as gulp only 2 Liters of fuel for a 100 km drive and emits only 50 g/km carbon. Its electric mode is also sufficient to take a drive of 35 km at a top speed of 120 km/h.
