BMW G310R Beats Bajaj Dominar 400 in a Drag Race: Check Video

BMW G310 R is an entry-level naked streetfighter from the Germany based bikemaker. Being considered the smallest and cheapest motorcycle from BMW Motorrad, the motorbike is slated to hit the Indian ground on 18th July 2018. Ahead its launch, a drag race video from a Youtuber- Full Gass was posted that is showcasing how both these motorcycles stack up against each other in a drag race.

Mind you, both the motorcycles are being manufactured in India. The BMW G310 R development is being taken care at TVS Motors’ production facility in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. While the Pune based Bajaj Autos’ manufacturing unit is handling the production of Bajaj Dominar 400.

Powering for the BMW G310 R comes from a single cylinder 313 cc engine. The engine is capable of generating the maximum power of 35 hp at 8000 rpm and transmitting 35 Nm to the rear wheel at 6500 rpm. As the company claims, the motorcycle can easily attain the top speed of 148 kmph. The motorcycle has the power to weight ratio of 0.192 hp per kg.

On the other hand, BMW G310R is powered by a single cylinder 313 cc engine that churns out 33.6 hp at 9500 rpm along with 28 Nm at 7500 rpm. The top speed for the motorcycle is 145 kmph. Whereas, the power to weight ratio of this 158.5kgs heavier motorcycle is 0.211 hp per kg.

Comparing engine specs reveals Bajaj Dominar more dominating in terms of on-paper power and torque figure. Although, it’s power to weight ratio is lower and kerb weight is more than the G310R comparatively. The video will tell you the true winner, check out attached clip. As you can see besides having lower power and torque, BMW G310R easily managed to beat the Dominar 400 in all rounds. Thanks to lower power to weight ratio that helps in attaining great pickup and quick acceleration.

In terms of pricing, Bajaj Dominar 400 carries the price tag of INR 1.5 lakhs. The BMW G310R, on the other hand, will attract the price tag in the vicinity of INR 3 lakh to INR 3.5 lakh.
