The German luxury carmaker, BMW has launched the petrol version of the 520i model that belongs to the 5-Series just ahead the launch of the other anticipated models like petrol version 320i, BMW 3-Series in Indian automobile market. The new BMW 520i has been produced in the country via a completely built up (CBU) route and landed at the price sticker of Rs. 54 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), in the ‘luxury line’ trim.
Aesthetically, both the petrol and diesel variants of BMW 520i share the same features that comprise adaptive LED headlamps, sleek front bumper with incorporated air intakes, air dam and the fog lamps. The 520i stands on large 18-inch alloy wheels..
The additional features and accessories for driver’s aid include cruise control, park distance control and a rearview camera. Moreover, it boasts USB connectivity, hands-free facility, Bluetooth audio streaming, Harman Kardon surround sound system, a multifunction instrument display, iDrive touch with handwriting recognition including 25.9 cm color display.
Introduced in the ‘Luxury Line’ design scheme, the new BMW 520i is also blessed with engine start-stop function, brake-energy regeneration tech along with a number of driving modes like Eco pro, Comfort, and Sport to save the fuel.
Under the hood, the new 520i gets the propelling power from a 2.0 litre TwinPower turbocharged 4-cylinder petrol engine which produces the maximum power of 184 hp and peak torque of 270 Nm at 1,250 to 4,500 rpm. The motor is connected to BMW’s 8-speed Steptronic Automatic Transmission that helps it to attain 0-100 Kmph easily in 7.9 seconds. It is claimed to achieve a top speed of 233 Kmph.

The BMW 520i offers three stylish color options which include Black Sapphire and Imperial Blue Brilliant Effect, both kept the metallic coat. While, the Alpine White is a non-metallic offering. Other numerous interior trim options are also available which enhances the interior beauty of the BMW 520i.
