2019 BMW X4 Explained

The second generation X4 crossover from the German-based carmaker has been unveiled before its launch that is slated to take place next year. The model is named as Sports Activity Vehicle by BMW. looks more like a coupe trim of the X3, the new X4 will be bigger than its old model. The regular and xLine variants of the model will be offered at the global front.

Design-wise, the new BMW X4 features the brand’s signature kidney grill that is adorned with a trapezoidal headlamp on both sides. Aggressive in stance, the car has redesigned bumper. Also, the vehicle has a low-slung roofline that goes to the ear deck. The rear profile is furnished with slim three-dimensional L-shaped tail lights and a bumper-mounted number plate. the xLine variant which receives matte aluminium highlights runs on 19-and 20-inch alloy wheels. the usual M Sport package that consists of sportier front and rear bumpers and body-coloured cladding offers sportier appeal to the new X4.

Inside the cabin, the new X4 gets a lower dash profile which incorporates a freestanding infotainment display. The rear legroom space in this new model is expanded by 27mm. While the boot space has been increased by 25 litres and now stand at 525 litres. Other features include larger panoramic roof, power-adjustable seats with heating and ventilation, three-zone automatic climate control and acoustic side windows. The major highlights on the new X4 is a 6.5-inch centre display as standard fitment, while a 10.25-inch touchscreen display with a Professional navigation system will be provided as an option.

The 2019 BMW X4 model will be offered in six engine options including three petrol and three diesel engine. The variant xDrive20i is laden with a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo petrol engine under the hood that cranks out 181bhp at 6,500rpm and 290Nm of torque from 1,350 to 4,250rpm. On the xDrive30i, similar powertrain churns out an improved power of 250bhp and 350Nm of torque. Another 2.0-litre turbodiesel powertrain on the xDrive20d model rolls out 188bhp and 400 Nm and 229bhp and 500Nm in the xDrive25d. Moreover, a 3.0-litre straight-six will also be introduced in this range from automaker by third quarter around in August that will power the xDrive30d variant. The engine will develop 262bhp and peak torque of 620Nm at 2,000 rpm.
