Cadillac 2016 ELR is Now Official

Cadillac has just made the 2016 version ELR luxury hybrid coupe official in the international market with a few changes in it. The car has majorly been improved on the engine front, where it can now accelerate to 96km/k speed from nil in about 6.4 seconds, which is whooping 1.5 seconds faster than the outgoing version of the hybrid version though. This multi-fuel version uses 1.4 Litre petrol engine and a battery that sends 505 Nm torque. The sports mode has also been tweaked to make it accelerate better and hence gaining overall better performance.

The battery has now been placed between front and rear wheels to make the weight distribution better. Now, the 2016 ELR can travel upto 60 km in pure electric mode and the hybrid can be powered by 120 volt and 240 volt power sources, and the 240 volt source does the full charge in 5 hours. Other improvements of the car have been done in damping control system, suspension system and a new performance package is also available for the customers.

Cadillac President, Mr. Johan De Nysschen also said “ELR's combination of leading technology with stunningly attractive design is unlike any other coupe in luxury segment. The upgraded ELD offer enhanced driving performance for buyers seeking uncompromising luxury and exquisite craftsmanship with electrification technology. It is unique in the luxury category, in that it completely eliminates conventional concerns over driving range, which has been Achilles' heel of other competitors in the luxury segment.”
