Cadillac Reportedly Working on Mercedes-Benz CLA Rival

The American car manufacturer Cadillac has just launched its ATS sedan CTS coupe for major market of the world. But, the competition nowadays is so stiff that no car maker can survive without adapting to the changes or launching new cars. Well, the trend has been understood by most of the German car maker like Mercedes-Benz and Audi as they've already dominated the car market by offering many sedan cars at affordable price tags like Mercedes-Benz CLA at just US $ 30,000. Now, the companies like Cadillac has found it difficult to stay in hunt with such offers and that is why the company is planning to launch a sedan car to compete against the likes of them.

The company president Johan de Nysschen has also confirmed the news as well. He said “ATS is being compared to the new entrants that have come on in this exploding market segment populated by CLA and the Audi A3 Sedan. Suddenly, you have access to a Mercedes-Benz at US $ 30,000, whereas the ATS is starting several thousands dollars higher.” However, the company will offer this sedan with it's Alpha rear-wheel drive platform as on ATS.

Mr. Nysschen also said that “ The cost and packaging advantages of front-wheel drive are appealing. But Cadillac is the challenger brand. We want to build our reputation as purveyor of high performance drivers' cars... so it's better that we do it off a rear-wheel drive architecture.”
