The next generation Audi A4 has been revealed with detailed specifications along with the pricing. It is soon going to be displayed at the 2015 Frankfurt Auto Show to be held few days later. This upcoming saloon has been priced at 25,900 pounds which translates to INR 26,50,460 for the Indian market.. Even with several improvements regarding space, performance and other aspects, this price of new A4 is less than the outgoing version. It is likely to get launched at UK shores by the month of November, while in India the launch can take place in next year's summer season. There will be three trims available in the lineup, namely SE, Sports and S Line.
The new Audi A4 will be based on an all new MLB Evo platform that makes the car weigh 120kg lighter, 21mm longer and 12 mm has been added to the wheelbase when compared to the present A4. The boot capacity on sedan has been increased by 15 litres, making it 505 litres. On the other hand, the new Avant will still offer same boot space measuring 480 litres. This increased space enables the occupants to avail an additional knee and head room inside the car.
Inside the cabin, it will be fitted with several advanced equipments for ensuring luxury and comfort of occupants. The digital instrument panel will have a 12.3 inch display screen and there will be an 8.3 inch monitor accompanied by the latest MMI version. Further, a Bang & Olufsen Sound System, sensor control for operating luggage compartment, mobile phones charging facility and an entertainment unit for the rear passengers. Apart from this, there will be a pre-sense city safety system that makes use of a windscreen stereo camera for monitoring the road. If no response is received, this system automatically applies brakes at 25 mph of speed.
These soon to be launched cars will be available in both diesel and petrol engine options. These power packed engines have been tuned to deliver a better mileage, which is 21% more than the current versions. The engine lineup on offer can be listed as follows:
