Chevrolet Beat Facelift Spotted While Testing in Bengaluru

Recently, the streets of Bengaluru have witnessed an updated version of the Chevrolet Beat. As per the spyshots, the front and the rear of the car is quite invisible due to heavy camouflage. But, the side profile gives a simple hint about the dimension of the facelifted version. It is clearly a facelift with some minor changes.

Facelifted Chevrolet Beat in Bengaluru

Chevrolet Beat was launched back in 2010, and the carmaker recently brought the facelift version in January this year. After its first debut in 2010, the carmaker later came up with the diesel variant of the Beat. It is presently powered by a 1.2-litre DOHC petrol unit which produces 77PS of power and 106.5Nm of torque. While, the 1.0-litre TCIC diesel engine makes up to 56PS of power along with 142.5Nm of peak torque. The petrol variant is said to deliver a fuel efficiency of 17.8kmpl whereas the diesel engine version returns an impressive 25.44kmpl of mileage.

Beat has been an important product for the automaker due to its magnificent look and tech-loaded interior. It has been receiving good amount of bookings after the popular Tavera model. As the production version has been spotted now, the car is expected to be launched by the festive season in India. Post launch, it will continue to rival with newly launched Tata Zica and Maruti Celerio in the polar hatchback segment.

Notably, the automaker also showcased the Beat-based Chevrolet Essentia at the 2016 Indian Auto Expo. The compact car will be launched in India by 2017 using similar engine configuration.
