The New York Auto Show 2015 or NYIAS in short has begun and so as the launch of cars at event. One of the most anticipated Chevrolet Malibu 2016 has also made its way to with all new look and engine. It has also been made to shed the weight by 136 KG and longer by 101 mm to make it faster and spacious than the current model. The company will start selling this car after 3rd quarter of 2015 and booking could start a bit earlier than that. The major change in this version is its availability in hybrid mill, which has been inherited from Volt with the purpose to grab attention of the growing market of such cars all over the world.
The hybrid unit will get the 1.8 Litre direct-injection 4-cylinder unit with a 2-motor unit producing 182 bhp in total. The top speed of hybrid model is 88 km/h and offers mileage of 19 km/l, which is more than Hyundai Sonata hybrid, Toyota Camry and Ford Fusion. Other engines are 1.5 Litre turbo one producing 160 hp power and 250 Nm torque and 2.0 Litre turbo producing 186 bhp power and 350 Nm torque. The 1.5 Litre model will be mated with 6-speed automatic transmission and rest will get 8-speed version of the same.
There are many features too in the car with 10 air bags, rear view camera, side blind zone alert, front and rear park assist, rear cross traffic alert, adaptive cruise control and many others. The price and exact launch date hasn't been confirmed and we'll inform you as soon as we get them.
