CIMAMotor 2016: Suzuki DL250 (V-Strom 250) Concept Revealed

With each and every day passing, we are noticing the inclination of various International motoring giants towards the rapidly evolving entry level adventure touring segment in the global market. More or less within two or three years, the market will witness the advent of a number of products in the quarter liter off-road touring genre. As speculated, on the very first note, Kawasaki Versys 250 could make its presence at the impending 2016 EICMA along with the German venture’s BMW G310R naked runner based mini adventure bike, the BMW G310GS. The Austrian bike maker, KTM has already seized 2019 as the 390 Adventure launch year.

Going to join the same journey, Suzuki Motorcycles has put the curtains off from its new quarter-litre tourer concept, the DL250 at the proceeding 2016 China International Motorcycle Trade Exhibition. Evidently, seems more or less like a production ready model, the concept is in its V-Storm family livery with a ‘V-Strom’ badge inscribed on its beaky fairing and having off- road character.

If go through the mechanicals, the new baby storm is loaded with powertrain of new Suzuki GSX-250R, which has also been showcased at the same event. The 248cc, DOHC twin cylinder liquid cooled engine is adequate enough to generate 25PS of power at 8,000 rpm and deliver 23.4Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. The conventional telescopic suspension at upfront seems inspired from the V-Strom 650. Whereas, the round shape headlamp is completely different from the V-Strom 1000 and V-Strom 650.
