With continuously increasing demand among the buyers, Nissan India has announced a ramp up in the production of the Redi-Go Sport that was launched in the market in last month at the price of INR 3.49 Lakhs (Ex-showroom). The automaker will design 800 additional units in order to fulfil the customer's demand and the deliveries will commence from next, said by the company. According to the reports, the carmaker had planned to produce 1,000 examples of the said unit that have reportedly sold out from its post-launch.
Available in three colour options, namely, Ruby, White and Grey the sporty edition of the Redi-Go features Bluetooth enabled music system, remote keyless entry and rear parking sensors. Arun Malhotra, managing director, Nissan Motor India said, "The Datsun redi-GO SPORT version has generated more demand than anticipated and the initially planned 1,000 units have been sold out in less than a month. To meet the high demand we are announcing an increase in production of the car with a further 800 units."
Being a special edition, it comes with cosmetic tweaks such as blacked-out components along with contrast inserts and body graphics. Featuring in the black and white and black and red themes, the Redi-GO houses a sporty black strip across the length and sides of the car. Moreover, Painted in red or white, the car flaunts a black coloured front bumper, alloy wheels, exterior mirrors, and front grille that complete its sporty appearance.
On the mechanical front, the Redi-GO Sport limited edition is powered by the same 0.8-litre 3-cylinder mill as of the regular model and capable of churning out the maximum power of 53 PS at 5678 rpm while the peak torque of 72 Nm comes out at 4388 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. "With the success of the Datsun redi-GO SPORT, we plan to continuously update and refresh the redi-GO range in India to offer our customers a unique value proposition," further added by Malhotra.
