The new Datsun redi-GO came into much light after its preview that was held few days back. It has come into notice that some dealerships in Mumbai have already started taking bookings and surprisingly, around 150 bookings have been already taken for the upcoming hatchback Datsun redi-GO. But, the automaker has announced that the official bookings will start from May 1, 2016.
Since the automaker has not announced the prices yet, some reports hint that it will be available at a starting price of Rs. 2.44 Lakhs (ex-showroom), keeping it most affordable least expensive petrol hatchback in the country. The Datsun redi-GO is targeting the small family consumers who are looking for some other options against Renault Kwid.
The redi-GO is based on the familiar CMF-A platform as the Renault Kwid. It offers longer wheelbase and high ground clearance of 185 mm. Inside, It lacks digital cluster or an AVN system, might be a reason to keep the prices balanced.
Datsun redi-GO is packed by a 0.8-liter three cylinder engine, which is further mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The actual power and efficiency will be announced later. But, the automaker claims that the hatchback will be offering superior mileage in the segment. It is likely to be launched in India by the first week of June this year.
