Datsun India has announced the sales date of the new redi-GO hatchback in India. The car will be officially available for sale from June 7, 2016 onwards. The prices and specifications have already been revealed by the automaker. It will be priced in between Rs 2.5 lakh to Rs 3.5 lakh. However, the detailed variant-wise pricing is yet to come. It has also been spotted in some of the Datsun dealerships operating in the country.
The redi-GO is based on the similar CMF-A (Common Module Family) platform, which underpins the Renault Kwid. It comes powered by a 800 cc engine that churns out 54PS of power and 72Nm of torque. The automaker claims that the hatchback returns ARAI rated mileage of 25.17kmpl.
Datsun has designed the new redi-GO in a unique way. It is identical to the concept model that was showcased two years back in the Auto Expo 2014. It is available in deep funky colours such as red and light green.
Datsun aims to do good in the segment with this small hatch. In the Indian market, it is likely to stand against Maruti Alto 800. It could attract buyers looking for small car with good fuel economy.
