Delhi Transport Department Approves the Facilities of Bike-on-rent

In order to keep the existence of the capital among the tourists, specially for the aficionados of tourer-adventure rider, on the lines of Goa, the proposal of bike-on-rent has been granted by the Delhi transport department in the national capital- Delhi. Indeed, this decision will be providing the last mile connectivity to tourism and the local individuals in the state. The Delhi transport department will issue special licenses to the motorcycles that can be hired for use by tourists and individuals. The bike-on-rent facilities are also available in Goa and Himachal Pradesh, where the tourist can hire a motorcycle for a day or couple of days.

"These will be commercially registered and given contract carriage permit. The license holder should have a minimum of five motorcycles with office space of 150 square feet," a senior official of Transport department said.

However, Transport department has also declined the proposal of "bike taxi" services in the city due to security reason of pillion rider. According to the Tourism department's plan, the motorcycles/scooters will be available on a rent at metro stations, ISBTs and railway stations and important places across the capital. According to the plan, if you want to hire a motorcycle/scooter, then you should have to submit a valid id proof such as Aadhar Card, Driving License, Passport and Ration Card at the bike counters. Official claims that Transport department will notify the proposal by the end of this month.
