Claudio Domenicali, Ducati CEO, has showcased the ‘Final Edition’ of the Ducati 1299 Panigale R at the Laguna Seca racing circuit during 8th round of the World Superbike Championship in California, USA, on July 8, 2017. The tri-colour livery that is inspired from the italian national flag, was the most fascinating aspect in a single glimpse of the bike. After Panigale 1199, it is the second one in lineup to get painted by tri-colour livery.
Built around a monocoque aluminium platform, the bike is underpinned with a 1285cc L-twin engine. The mill is said to develop the maximum power of 209PS at 11,000rpm and a peak torque of 142Nm at 9,000rpm. The suspension duties are under the consideration of Öhlins NIX30 43 mm fully adjustable USD front forks with TiN treatment with 120mm wheel travel and fully adjustable Öhlins TTX36 unit with aluminium single-sided swingarm with 130mm wheel travel at the rear.
While, the braking will be handled by dual 330mm semi-floating discs with radially mounted Brembo Monobloc four piston callipers at the front and a 245mm disc with two piston callipers at the rear. The advance safety of cornering ABS is also being offered as the standard fitment. The motorcycle runs on Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP 120/70 R17 tyres at the front and Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP 200/55 R17 tyres at the rear. On the weighing scale, It touches the mark of 168kg.

As far as the electronic package is concerned, the 1299 comes with the features like 6-axis Inertia measurement Unit (IMU), riding modes, power modes, and other electronic wizardy like Ducati Traction Control (DTC), Ducati Wheelie Control EVO (DWC EVO), Ducati Slide Control (DSC), Engine Brake Control (EBC), Ducati Power Launch (DPL), Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) and Ducati Data Analyser + (DDA+).
Moreover, there are also the employment of titanium connecting rods and valves, balanced crankshaft, auxiliary adjustment buttons, lithium ion battery, forged Marchesini aluminium wheels and Akrapovic exhaust.
