Ducati Launches Desert Sled Scrambler in India at INR 9.32 Lakh

Ducati India has introduced a new member in its Scrambler family at an introductory price sticker of INR 9.32 Lakh, ex-showroom. The motorcycle is inspired from the off-road bikes of 1960’s and 70’s in the US, therefore, it has been entitled as Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled. For the Indian motoring industry, the noted Italian bike maker is offering two colour options-the Red Musk and the White Mirage, which will cost you INR 9.32 Lakh and INR 9.45 lakh respectively. Besides this, the BS-IV versions of the Scrambler Icon and Classic iterations are also suggested by the Ducati India at INR 7.23 lakh and INR 8.48 lakh (ex-showroom, pan India) respectively.

Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled

The Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled comes packed with the underpinnings shared with the standard Scrambler, but in an improved form to make it more off-road friendly. The bike maker claims that it is an enhanced trim of the existing Urban Enduro model. The alterations which the Desert Sled has gone through include reworked chassis and suspension, high mounted mudguards, mesh guard on the headlamp, and engine skid plate for a better off-road riding experience. Moreover, the gold finished wheels wrapped with dual-purpose 19-inch front and 17-inch rear Pirelli Scorpion Rally Str tyres, higher seat position and off-road style footpegs with removable rubber pads are some other fitments on the new Scrambler Desert Sled.

Mechanically, the Scrambler Desert Sled gets propelling power from the same 803cc, air and oil cooled engine of the standard Scrambler. Though, the mill has been tuned to generate 72bhp at 8250rpm and deliver 67Nm at 5750 rpm to the rear wheel. For a reminisce, similar drivetrain powers the lately introduced Ducati Monster 797. As per the Ducati, the employed updating on the bike is the resultant of new homologation norms that made the introduction of a new throttle control for smoother power delivery, mostly at the low range revs.

The suspension setup on the new Scrambler Desert Sled is also revived and now it offers 200mm extended travel on the front and rear suspension. While the braking responsibilities are under the supervision of Brembo sourced 330mm single disc integrated with 4-piston monobloc calipers at the front wheel and a 245mm single disc with a 32mm diameter piston calipers at the rear wheel. The Bosch 9.1 MP ABS system is also there to prevent the skid of the bike while harsh braking.
