E-Tron Quattro Concept Sketch Officially Released by Audi

Audi has recently released a sketch of the concept model E-tron Quattro, which will form the basis for the upcoming Q6 model. This concept is going to be unveiled at the Frankfurt Auto Show that will take place in the month of September, this year. During a press conference in April, the automaker had mentioned about this concept with the codename “C-BEV”. The aim behind this concept is to develop an all electric vehicle that will compete with the upcoming SUV Tesla Model X, which will be arriving in the global markets by the end of this year.

As per the reports, the upcoming Q6 that is being claimed to deliver a “zero-emissions” driving experience, is currently under production. It will be based on the MLB Evo platform utilised by the Q7 model, while its powertrain configuration will be inspired from the latest version of R8 e-tron. The current R8 e-tron is equipped with two electric motors at the rear and each of them drives one rear wheel. With 454 Bhp of power and 678 lb ft of torque, the car is enabled to go upto 62 miles per hour in just 3.9 seconds with the top speed reaching to 155 miles per hour.

The upcoming Q6 is likely to get a lithium ion battery fitted in the lower portion of the car's platform. This battery will provide energy to three electric motors equipped in the vehicle- one in the gearbox and the other two at the rear end. Further, the output generated by the upcoming e-tron will be increased upto around 500 Bhp/516 lb ft and will perform better than the R8.

Audi is planning to introduce the new Q6 by the year 2018 with amazing powertrain and stylish design cues. There is still a lot of time due for the arrival of this all electric SUV, but the concept itself is enough to create excitement in the minds of enthusiasts.
