The recent 2018 Auto Expo remains the platform for showcasing the future of mobility-the EVs, the automakers came up with their future products. One of them, the Ather Energy has launched its highly anticipated electric scooter Ather S340 along with the performance packed sibling, the Ather 450. The Ather scooters are followed by the unveiling of Coimbatore-based eMotion Motors’ geared electric motorcycle, the Surge.
As per the revealed official specs, eMotion Surge is powered by a 40Ah Lithium-ion battery pack. The battery offers power to the motor to churn out 28Nm of torque at 2,800 rpm. The power figures are on the tech sheet revealed by eMotion. A four-speed, semi-automatic gearbox transmits generated power to the rear wheel. The claimed top speed and 0-60kmph sprint completion time for the Surge are 120kmph and less than 4 sec. Which makes it a great deal in the EV segment.
The bike maker claims that the motorcycle will be equipped with all the trendy features. It would be animated turn indicators, SOS feature and a reverse feature as well. On a full charge, the Surge can cover up the range of 100km. The battery can be charged up in just 30 min via using an express charging facility.
Furthermore, the features and convenience which are claimed by the start-up encompass smartphone integration, navigation and cloud connectivity along with storage space for more than a helmet. The Surge’s unveiling took place via webcast on the eMotion web portal.
