Ertiga Rival-Mitsubishi Xpander To Come India

With a long gap, Mitsubishi is coming with new products for Indian buyers. Recently, Outlander is launched, and now the company is working towards new products such as the Eclipse Cross, the Xpander, 7-seat MPV, and a five-seater coupe-SUV.

On the Mitsubishi Outlander launch event, Uttam Bose, Managing Director, Mitsubishi India mentioned bringing the Xpander in India by 2020. It is already available in Southeast Asia. It comes with angular and sharp face with ‘Dynamic Shield’ design language of the company. The side gets arches of16-inch alloy wheels whereas the back looks just the same as the upcoming Pajero Sport and the Outlander.

The Xpander will compete upcoming Maruti Ertiga, Honda BR-V, and Toyota Rush in other markets. The information suggests the Xpander will be the most extensive, tallest and the longest in the segment. With a spacious cabin, excellent seat arrangement and a healthy number of wheelbase, it will attract more buyers.

When it comes to feature list, it gets a 7-inch touchscreen, cruise control, push start/stop button, keyless entry, cup holders, GPS navigation, 12V power outlets and 7-inch touchscreen system. Safety list takes Hill Start Assist, Electronic Stability Control, traction control, parking sensors with reversing camera, dual-front airbags, and ABS with EBD. 1.5-litre power it, 4-cylinder MIVEC petrol engine generating a peak power of 105PS at 6,000rpm and a peak torque of 141Nm at 4,000rpm. It comes mated to a 4-speed automatic and a 5-speed manual.

The Xpander has priced at Rs 9.33 lakh to 12.20 lakh in the Indonesian market. It is expected to come to India with a similar price point ranging between Rs 9 lakh to Rs 13 lakh seeking the competitive prices. The information does not reveal anything about its manufacturing as local assembling or production at the Chennai plant till yet.
