Ex-Ducati Designer will now be designing Royal Enfield Motorcycles

The British iconic motorcycle manufacturer has recently hired a new designer to design its cruiser motorcycles. Here, we are talking about the world-famous iconic cruiser motorcycle maker, Royal Enfield, who recently hired an Italian motorcycle designer. Pierre Terblanche, the Ex-Ducati designer has now joined the Royal Enfield. He had worked for various international brands such as Ducati, Volkswagen, Norton and Piaggio. Pierre has a great history behind in terms of designing various classic motorcycles; one great example of his design is the X132 Hellcat Speedster.

Moreover, a short time ago, the firm is owned by the Eicher Motors Limited. The Eicher Motors Limited is the flagship company of the Eicher Group based in India and it is one of the leading automobile manufacturers across the country. Mr. Siddhartha Lal, MD and CEO at the Eicher Motors Limited says that, "I am very excited that Pierre Terblanche has recently joined our team; he is one of the most prolific industrial designers for motorcycles, and is best known for having created some extra-ordinary motorcycles as the head of design for Ducati for over a decade."

Talking about Mr. Pierre Terblance, he is born and brought-up in South Africa. Having joint venture with Miguel Angel Galluzi (the man responsible for the Ducati Monster design), he joined Piaggio to design the Moto Guzzi line-up motorcycles. While working with the Italian motorcycle brand, Ducati, he has designed the Ducati Multistrada, Hypermotard, Sportclassic and 749/999 supersports motorcycles.

The CEO of the Eicher Group has also added, "At Royal Enfield, we have set our sights on becoming the leaders in global mid-sized motorcycling segment and we are working towards it persistently. While we continue to ramp up capacity at our Oragadam plant month on month; we have recently acquired a 50 acre plot in Vallam Vadagal, near Chennai, Tamil Nadu. This plot is located within 10 kms of our Oragadam facility. This prepares us for future expansion to meet the growing demand of our motorcycles worldwide."
