Facelifted Mahindra KUV100 Spied Testing in India

Mahindra KUV100, an entry-level compact SUV from country’s one of the largest manufacturer, is preparing to mark its entry with a mid-life update in near future. The recent spied event of the model on the Mumbai-Pune expressway is indicating the same. From the surfaced spy shots, it has been noticed that the heavily camouflaged test mules were blessed with the redesigned rear bumper and a reworked front bumper as well.

During the launch, the KUV100 garnered positive customer response but thereafter the Ignis launch in the Indian automotive industry, the sales of the SUV get really affected. Now, with the facelifted model of the vehicle in question, the carmaker is eyeing to attract a wider range of audience. Well, the launch of the updated Mahindra KUV100 is yet not confirmed. Assumptions are, it could be premiered at forthcoming 2018 Indian Auto Expo and would launch further in the first half of the next year.

It is not the first time when the KUV100’s test mules have been spotted, the earlier events suggest, the upcoming will have the dual-barrel headlamps. A close inspection reveals the ‘sunglass inspired’ headlamps design of the brand, which might not suit everyone’s taste. In addition to that, the alloy wheels which were camouflaged appears to be carried forward from the 2017 dual-tone themed KUV100 version launched in January 2017.

Inside the cabin, the KUV100 is expected to continue the same all-black theme, which was also the part of the 2017 Model. Other than this, a touchscreen infotainment can be expected as a new attribute as almost all the KUV100’s rivals are offering in the segment.

Beneath the bonnet, the 2018 Mahindra KUV100 is likely to offer the propelling power with the same engine options of the outgoing model. That include 1.2-litre 3-cylinder petrol and diesel engines. Mated to a common 5-speed manual transmission, the petrol engine spits out the maximum power of 83PS along with 115Nm, while, the diesel engine is capable of generating 78PS peak power and 190Nm peak twisting force. An AMT (automated manual transmission) option is expected with the revived KUV100, owing to the Maruti Suzuki Ignis, the arch rival is offering the automatic transmission with both of its diesel and petrol variants.
