Four Motorcycles Set to Launch Today at 2017 India Bike Week

Asia’s most incredible biker festival, the India Bike Week is in its 5th generation. The event has started from today in Goa and the bikes from different automakers are ready to showcase at the podium. As per the reports, four motorcycles from the brands such as Triumph, BMW Motorrad, and Indian Motorcycles will be on the floor.

As model appears, it is a comfortable tourer and is bagger iteration of the already available motorcycle the K 1600 GTL in the Indian lineup. With a new rear to offer a stretched out bagger look, is slightly different with its mentioned elder sibling. Other cosmetic bits include a short, electronically adjustable windscreen, revised fairing, massive 37-litre storage capacity panniers which are blessed with a USB and an Audio input area.

Under the fuel tank, the bike is equipped with a 1649 cc inline-six cylinder engine that in integration with a six-speed gearbox. For smooth power transmission the bike maker is also offering a reverse gear and a quick shifter as optional. The features marked in the electronic equipment list encompass traction control, ABS and three riding modes. Suspension setup includes brand’s Duolever and Paralever suspension while the braking to de-accelerate the bike comes from dual 320mm front discs and a single 320mm rear disc brake.

In terms of pricing, the bike will hit the dealerships tagged with price sticker around INR 25-30 lakh.

The R nineT Racer will be the other model from the automaker that will expand the BMW’s R nineT range that already comprising the R nineT and R nineT Scrambler. The bike boasts cafe racer design and the fitments that complete the design are a half-fairing, rear cowl, and round analogue instrument console. Also, the key element that enhances the beauty of the bike is BMW Motorsport paint scheme. The bike is powered by a 1170cc air-cooled twin-cylinder boxer engine that is capable of generating 110bhp and 116Nm torque.

Based on the similar chassis of the standard R nine T, the Racer is the stripped down version of the former. The bike in question gets a steel tank and traditional telescopic front forks in place of aluminum tank and inverted forks of the standard R nine T.

If the pricing of the motorcycle is concerned it will be an affordable option than the standard R nine T that is on sale at the price sticker of INR 17.5 lakhs (ex-showroom, Mumbai).

The Indian Scout Bobber that is developed on the grounds of Standard Scout offers revised riding position, stripped down look and beefy tyres. Also, the bike comes painted in the dark theme where the components such as the wheels, exhaust, frame, and engine are painted in matte black. The bike stands on cartridge-type front forks and a dual-spring rear suspension that has been reduced by an inch to offer a lower look.

Powering the bike come from the similar 1133 cc V-twin engine that does propel duty on the standard Scout. Mated to a six-speed gearbox, the engine churns out the maximum power of 100bhp and 97Nm. The bike competes with the Harley-Davidson Roadster in the segment and is likely to be priced with INR 14 lakhs.

The British motorcycle manufacturer is also going to unveil one of its new product. Though, there is no information what product will it be. It could be the Bonneville Speedmaster, as of now that is not the part of Indian lineup.
