Harley Davidson to Roll Out 250-500cc Motorcycles for Asian Markets

Harley Davidson has announced that it will introduce small capacity motorcycle in 200-500cc range for Asian markets. The company will produce these bikes in collaboration with an Asia-based two-wheeler company. However, the brand name has not been revealed by the legendary American manufacturer yet. It is not the first when an international manufacturer is going to join hands with Indian two-wheeler manufacturer. TVS and BMW are in partnership[, Bajaj has the connection with Triumph Motorcycles and now Harley Davidson, it will be interesting to see which Asian two-wheeler producer will shake hand.

As the company confirmed the introduction of new product in said segment, will not only help in generating completely new customer base but also help in the company's growth in the country. However, the product like the Harley Davidson Street 750 has already made the company stand firmly in the cruiser segment. Harley is witnessing a drop in sales, especially in the US Market. This new small capacity Harley Davidsons will be launched in Asian markets including the world's second-largest two-wheeler market, India. The other brands like Bajaj Auto and Triumph have already announced their partnership to produce smaller displacement motorcycles. While the TVS has rolled out three of its product in alliance with BMW Motorrad in India and export markets.

Moreover, no confirmation which segment the bike will cater is not done by the Harley Davidson. The assumption among the enthusiasts is, besides being a cruiser, it could be a sub 500cc naked streetfighter or maybe an adventure bike. As of now, everything is speculated from the bike’s category to the new ‘strategic partner ‘. it will be interesting to see, but until any official words, we have to wait and watch.
