Harley-Davidson Recalled 66k motorcycles: Front Wheel Lock-up issue

2014 is going to be a record year, as the international companies have been recalling their hundreds of vehicles, considering various safety hazards. Companies like General Motors, Ford and KTM fall under the list of recalling companies, who have been looking for various safety features in their products.

Now, recently one more iconic name has been added to the list, the name is Harley-Davidson. The World famous motorcycle maker has recalled more than 66,000 motorcycles. These motorcycles would be of certain models, which have been manufactured in the year, 2014.

Harley-Davidson CVO Touring

Harley-Davidson is recalling 66,000 cruiser motorcycles of Touring and CVO Touring models. The reason behind the recalling is due to the braking system of the front wheel, which can lock-up the motorcycle and increases the risk of an accidental crash. Although, all the models of Touring and CVO Touring are equipped with ABS braking system. The company is continuing to notify the owners of these motorcycles as well that the front wheel can lock-up without any warning. Due to this front wheel lock-up issue, the company has come across five accidents and each reporting the same issue. The front wheel lock-up issue comes into the picture when the brake line tweaked between the fuel tank and the frame of the motorcycle, which increases the pressure of the fuel and locks-up the front wheel.

Harley-Davidson Touring Models

The recalled models by the company are all those motorcycles, which have been manufactured between 1st July 2013 to 7th May 2014. As a part of recall the affected models are: - FLHTK, FLHTKSE, FLHTKSHRINE, FLHTCU, FLHTCUTC, FLHTP, FLHX, FLXHS, FLHXSHRINE, FLHR, FLHRC, FLHP AND FLHRSE.
