Harley-Davidson Street Rod Launched in India at Rs. 5.86 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi)

One of the oldest US based motorcycle manufacturer, Harley-Davidson, today introduced a new model in Indian line-up. It is christened as the Street Rod, and is available to purchase from authorised dealerships at Rs. 5.86 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Where, the pre-bookings for this new player has already been started. Desirables have to pay a token amount of Rs. 15,000 to register their bookings. However, the deliveries against bookings are expected to take place sometimes in last of April 2017.

Aesthetically, the Street Rod, which is a new addition to the Harley-Davidson’s Dark Custom line-up, features a sporty character of a street bike. Owing to equipped components such as flyscreen, flat drag-style handlebar, minimal tail section and the fresh alloy wheels, which are more focused for a city commute.

All new Street Rod, based on Street 750 platform

Built around the Street Rod 750 platform, the Street Rod is powered by the same 750cc liquid-cooled V-twin engine. However, it has received some mechanical updates such as a larger air box, a new throttle body, reworked cylinder heads with high-lift camshafts and a new exhaust system. The engine churns out the maximum power of 70bhp and the peak torque of 64Nm. Apart from this, the company also claimed an extended rev range which means high torque generation through the mid-range.

The Street Rod suspended over the new 43mm inverted front forks and the gas-charged rear suspension employment. Whereas, the updated dual 300mm front discs at the front wheel along with ABS fitment as standard provides safety for the rider and pillion passenger. Available in three colour options of olive gold, matte grey and black, the new Street Rod will go head to head with the Benelli TNT 600i, Ducati Scrambler and the Triumph Street Twin.
